Frequently asked questions about importing from China to Argentina
The questions we get asked most before someone starts importing, answered in plain language. If your question is not here, write to us: we will answer for your specific case, not with a generic reply.
How does the end-to-end consolidation and customs clearance service work?
We coordinate receiving your cargo from different suppliers at our own warehouse in China, consolidate it into a single shipment, arrange the international freight and the insurance, handle the customs clearance and deliver the goods to your warehouse, ready to sell.
You choose the product. We take care of the rest.
Can I buy from more than one supplier for the same shipment?
Yes, that is exactly the advantage of consolidation. You can buy from several manufacturers: we receive each order at the warehouse, check the packages and packing, and group everything into a single shipment to optimise the freight and the customs costs.
Do you carry out quality control or inspection at origin?
Yes, at the client's request. We arrange a factory inspection with an inspection company before the goods leave origin, so you do not find out about a problem once the cargo is already here.
Can I import under my own brand?
Yes. We arrange production with the supplier under your brand, your packaging and your labels, and we check that the labelling meets what local regulations require.
Which countries do you bring goods from?
Mainly China, where we have our own warehouse and team, but we also operate from the United States and other origins. If your supplier is in another country, ask us.
Do I need to be registered as an importer?
It is not essential. Depending on the commercial setup and the volume, we look together at the option that best fits your case.
Being a monotributista or a VAT-registered taxpayer is not a barrier: you can import all the same.
Is importing this way legal?
Yes. It is a formal import: customs clearance with full documentation, payment of duties and taxes, and an invoice. The only thing we do differently is consolidate your cargo with others, so that a small volume costs a sensible amount.
Which products can be brought in and which have restrictions?
We handle almost any commercial or industrial goods. Products with mandatory certifications (electrical safety, food, cosmetics, CHAS) need a prior review of the tariff classification and of technical compliance before you buy at origin.
We go through that with you before you pay, not afterwards.
What if the cargo gets held up at customs?
We sort it out. Because we handle the clearance and the shipment ourselves, any requirement, inspection channel or certification is managed by us, without you having to chase third parties. We keep you informed throughout.
What are the total costs of the operation?
The quote is broken down into: inland freight in China (if your supplier does not cover it), port and warehouse charges at origin, international freight and insurance, import duties and taxes, customs clearance fees and charges, and inland logistics to your warehouse.
These are final figures, delivered to your warehouse.
Are there hidden costs?
No. The quote breaks down goods, freight and insurance, duties, taxes and clearance, and logistics, fees, terminal and charges. What you see is what you pay.
How long does the whole process take?
By sea, transit time is usually around 55 to 60 days from the vessel's departure, plus the consolidation days beforehand and between 5 and 10 days to clear customs once it arrives.
By air the total time drops to 10-15 days; we use it mainly for samples and urgent shipments.
On top of that you need to add your supplier's production time.
What is the minimum volume?
We work with shared containers, so you do not need to fill a container or bring a whole carton of each item. As a guide, from around USD 1,000 of goods an ocean operation already makes sense.
Get a quote for your case and we will look at it together.
What documents should I ask my supplier for before closing the purchase?
Just two things: the Proforma Invoice and a preliminary Packing List, with volume in CBM, gross weight and the tariff code (HS Code).
With those we check duties, permits and certificates before you make the payment.
How is the supplier paid?
We can pay the supplier at origin if you need us to, or you can pay directly. We agree this case by case, before starting.
